About this product
A winter favourite, bajra (pearl millet) has long been valued for its naturally warming properties, traditionally eaten through the colder months to keep the body energised. Sourced from select regions of Rajasthan. Rich in iron, magnesium and fibre, bajra is naturally gluten-free and a wholesome alternative to regular wheat flour. Flavour — robust, slightly nutty and earthy, with a coarse, rustic texture.
In the kitchen
- Texture — coarse, greyish flour, denser than wheat flour.
- Knead with hot water and rest the dough 10–15 minutes. Bajra has no gluten to bind it, so pat it into bhakris by hand rather than rolling, and cook on a medium-low flame.
- Ideal for bajra rotis and parathas, khichdi and winter dishes.
- Naturally gluten-free grain. Prepared in a facility that also processes grains containing gluten.
